A Chef Turned Health Coach | She/Her

Hi, I'm Joatta—a chef who has made the insane but healthy decision to be a health coach/blogger.

This is a Journey Back to Health and Routine

I'm 32, and if I'm being honest, I've never had a solid routine that lasted longer than six months. I was a chef for twelve years. And to be honest, I will always consider myself a chef!

So, why the blog?

First Things First…

Growing up with divorced parents meant constantly switching homes and environments. While one household tried to offer consistency, it was never enough to form lasting habits. Later in life, I became a chef — a career I held for 12 years, with culinary school before that — and if you've ever worked in the food industry, you know how chaotic and physically demanding it can be.

Ironically, the one time I achieved the healthy body and lifestyle I wanted, I was missing the most critical piece: a healthy mindset. I'd often find a rhythm, only for something to shake it — long work hours, schedule changes, or unexpected life shifts.

Earlier this year, I made a bold choice. I stepped away from my job and the career I had known. Around the same time, a 10-year relationship ended. The beginning of this year was a turning point — painful, but necessary. Since then, I've spent six months healing, moving back home (temporarily, I hope), and earning my health coaching certificate.

So, again, why write a blog?

Because I hope my journey and past knowledge can help inspire others!

Here's the truth: I've put my health on hold. It's an uncomfortable admission — especially as a health coach — but it's also part of my reality. I've realized I intensely dislike the feeling of starting over. But maybe that's what many of us struggle with: the frustration of inconsistency, the pressure to "start again," and the search for motivation that doesn't disappear.

It got me thinking — maybe the issue isn't just with willpower or discipline. Maybe routines themselves are more complex to build and maintain than we think. Health coaching teaches us to guide others in creating and maintaining sustainable habits. And when I think of habits, I think of routines. It all comes full circle.

So, I've decided to be my own first client.

Ready for a change too? Then, you're in the right place.

Over the next six months, I'll coach myself through rebuilding a routine — exploring what my habits, health, and mindset can look like when I truly commit. I'm sharing this journey here not because I have all the answers, but because I want to find them — and maybe help others do the same.

This is my reset, realignment, and return to health — not just physically but mentally and emotionally, too.

Let's see what's possible!
